Festival of Colors 2025 Details Released for Pokémon GO

Starting Thursday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. local until Monday, March 17 at 8:00 p.m. local, the Festival of Colors event will return to Pokémon GO. The event features the return of Shiny Smeargle, the debut of Shiny Bruxish, and not much else of note.
Event Details
Shiny Debut: Bruxish
The release of Shiny Bruxish is really the star here. Bruxish is a pretty controversial Pokémon, and its Shiny sure is unique. Here's what it looks like compared to the base coloring (the green sure is something).
| Non-Shiny | Shiny |
|---|---|
Bruxish should be easier to find using incense.
Return of Shiny Smeargle
It's been a long time since we had Shiny Smeargle available. Now your daily snapshots can spawn a shiny Smeargle, it looks like we'll be able to do a few extra per day. Here's the shiny comparison:
| Non-Shiny | Shiny |

Raids
Here are the raids we'll be getting (basically just the return of Tapu Koko and Mega Swampert).
Three-Star Raids
Vaporeon
Jolteon
Flareon
Five-Star Raids
Tapu Koko
Mega Raids
Mega Swampert
Only Swampert and Tapu Koko can be shiny.
Wild Spawns
One neat thing about the event is that Flabébé forms will be rotating. Here's what will appear where:
- Red Flower Flabébé: Europe, the Middle East, and Africa
- Blue Flower Flabébé: Asia-Pacific region
- Yellow Flower Flabébé: Americas
- Orange Flower Flabébé and White Flower Flabébé: Anywhere!
Timed Research
There will be a free Timed Research that will reward an Incense, four Rare Candies, and encounters with various Pokémon. There will also be a $2.00 paid research that gives two Lure Modules, four Incense, 2,000 Stardust, and encounters with Bruxish.
Other Bonuses
- 3 hour Lure Modules
- 2 hour Incense
- Extra daily snapshots
- Bruxish spawns increased with Incense
Event Thoughts
I mean, it's an event. If you're big on Shiny Bruxish, then this is your chance to get it! Also, if you're a newer player to the game, the chance to get Shiny Smeargle is pretty good. Other than that, it's just a pretty normal event. Wish the raids were better.
