Privacy Policy

At RotomLabs (accessible from https://rotomlabs.net) the privacy of our visitors matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, what we store in your browser, and why.

Most of RotomLabs needs no consent: it stores nothing that tracks you. Where the law requires your permission, we ask for it before it applies. This covers advertising cookies for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, and you can change your answer at any time (see Advertising).

Information we collect

We receive personal information in three ways only: when you sign in, when you contact us, and, anonymously, when we count visits.

Accounts

You can sign in to RotomLabs through our own sign-in service. Browsing the site never requires an account.

When you sign in, we receive:

  • your username;
  • your email address;
  • the groups your accounts belongs to, which decide what you can see or edit.

If you sign in with Discord, GitHub, or Patreon we store an identifier (such as your username on that service) to link your account.

We use this information only to keep you signed in and to give your account its permissions. We do not sell them or share them with advertisers.

To have your account deleted, contact us (see Contact).

When You Contact Us

If you contact us directly, we may receive information about you such as your name and email address. We use it only to reply to you.

Analytics

We count visits with Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service we host ourselves. Umami uses no cookies and collects only anonymous, aggregated data, which helps us improve the site and is never used to identify you.

Cookies and Storage on this Site

RotomLabs does not use cookies to track you. It stores a few small things in your browser, only so the site works and remembers your choices:

  • Sign in session (Cookie) to keep you signed in and if you sign in. It is stored until you sign out or it expires.
  • Sidebar open or closed (Cookie) to show the sidebars as you left them. Set only when you click a sidebar's toggle. It is stored for one year.
  • Light or dark theme (Browser storage) to remember your theme. It is stored until you clear it.
  • Your selected game and page settings (table views, calculator options) (Browser storage) to keep the site on the game and settings you chose. It is stored until you clear it.
  • Analytics notice dismissed (Browser storage) to stop the notice from appearing again. It is stored until you clear it.

None of these are sent to anyone else, and none contain personal information. Clearing your browser's cookies and site data removes them all.

Advertising

Ads help pay for RotomLabs. They are served by Google AdSense, which, with its partners, uses cookies and similar technology to show ads and measure how they perform. When an ad appears, these technologies run in your browser and receive your IP address.

  • In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland: You are asked before any advertising cookies are set, and you can decline. To change your choice later, use the privacy settings link shown on the page.
  • Personalized ads: Where your choices allow it, Google may base the ads you see on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn this off at Google's Ad Settings (https://adsettings.google.com), or opt out of other vendors' personalized ads at .
  • What we see: RotomLabs cannot see or control Google's cookies. Google's use of your data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy) and its page on how Google uses information from sites that use its services (https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

You can also block cookies in your browser's settings. The site still works, apart from staying signed in.

Your Rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • Show you the personal data we hold about you (for most visitors this is none; for account holders it is what is listed under Accounts);
  • correct it if it is wrong;
  • delete it, including your account.

We answer within one month. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Children's Information

RotomLabs does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you think that your child has given us such information, please contact us and we will delte it.
