Table of Contents expand_more
Niantic has revealed details for Pokémon GO's Weather Week. The event features extra stardust, Shiny Castform, and a bunch of other boosted spawns of specific species depending on the weather. The most important part of this event is the constant 2x Stardust bonus for catching! The event runs from March 14, 2024 (10am local) to March 18, 2024 (8pm local).

Castform and its forms will each be boosted in their respective weather (i.e. Rainy Form Castform while it's raining, Snowy Form Castform while it's snowing, Sunny Form Castform while it's sunny, and regular Castform in other weather).
Additionally, the following will be boosted in specific weather:
- Cacnea (Sunny)
- Lotad (Rainy)
- Snover (Snowy)
- Roggenrola (Partly Cloudy)
- Spritzee (Cloudy)
- Swablu (Windy)
- Gastly (Fog)
Niantic also confirms that the following will appear more frequently regardless of the weather:
- Paras
- Drifloon
- Helioptile
- Amaura
With Lickitung as a rarer spawn.
Each of the spawns featured can be shiny, so go nuts hunting for them!
linkRaids
One-Star Raids:
- Poliwhirl
- Gastly
- Hippopotas
- Amaura
Two-Star Raids:
- Charizard
- Lickitung
- Drampa
Five-Star Raids:

Mega Raids:
- Mega Tyranitar
Is anyone going to be raiding Regice? I'll probably take the week off of Five-Star raids.
linkField Research Task Encounters
Regardless of the weather, you can find Field Research quests that reward any of the following:
- Paras
- Castform (Normal)
- Castform (Sunny)
- Castform (Rainy)
- Drifloon
- Helioptile
- Amaura
- Castform (Snowy) (Rare)
linkCollection Challenges
There will also be some Collection Challenges to add to your badge. No word on how many there are or what will need to be done for completeion. However, you can get some Stardust and a free Incense for your troubles.
linkEvent Thoughts
The event seems decent enough. The spawns are alright, and I know people are going to want to complete their shiny Castform collection if they haven't already. The biggest bonus is the constant increase of Stardust. A constant 2x Bonus during the week is a huge opportunity. Stardust is the most important resource in this game, so make sure you get as much of it as you can!
The raids are a bit on the boring side, but if you don't have Mega Tyranitar you should certainly get enough. Mega Tyranitar is an excellent Dark-type attacker that doesn't require Elite TMs, and with Shadow Mewtwo at the end of the month, you should certainly be prepared!
