That's right, for the September 2024 Community Day, Pokémon GO will celebrate Ponyta! The Fire Horse Pokémon will be joined by it's Galarian counterpart, the Unique Horn Pokémon and spawning in the wild with increased shiny rates. You'll also be able to get one that knows Wild Charge.

linkEvent Analysis

This event should be fun. Ponyta and Galarian Ponyta are super popular Pokémon, and we're looking forward to it. Galarian Ponyta especially has an awesome shiny that's highly coveted. As for PvP analysis, I'm sure other folks will crunch some numbers if Wild Charge will make Rapidash (both or either) good for PvP. It certainly doesn't help with raids or taking gyms.

Anyway, enjoy the event. It's a somewhat odd choice (since, well, most people are tired of Kanto Pokémon) but it makes sense especially since Galar Pokémon are finally going to be released this season!
