Individual Values (IVs) are hidden numbers between 0 and 31 that determine a Pokémon's maximum stat potential, much like DNA in the real-world. Because the game hides these numbers from us, this calculator uses your Pokémon's visible stats to reverse-engineer them!
1. How to enter your data:- Freshly Caught or Hatched: If your Pokémon has never battled, it has exactly 0 Effort Values (EVs). You can leave the EV fields completely blank, or help the calculator by entering Advanced Mode to specify the 0 EVs.
- Trained Pokémon: If your Pokémon has gained EXP from battling, its stats have been artificially raised by EVs. Check Advanced Mode to input the exact EVs. (Note: If it has battled but you didn't track the EVs, the calculator cannot guarantee accurate IVs, but it can give you a good guess).
2. Tips for 100% Accuracy:- Level Up Without Battling: Low-level Pokémon (under Lv. 20) will return very broad, inaccurate ranges. To narrow them down, level up using Rare Candies or the Daycare. Neither of these methods will add EVs (only battling other Pokémon or using Vitamins will adjust EVs)!
- Record Multiple Levels: After leveling up, click "+ Add Another Level" and enter the new stats. The calculator will cross-reference the changes to pinpoint your exact IVs.
- Reveal Hidden Power: Once your IVs are narrowed down enough, the calculator will even determine the Type and Base Power of the Pokémon's Hidden Power.
