E Needs an Elite TM or a legacy move. A Pokémon with one of these rows has a second row for its best moveset on the moves it learns today.
M A Super Mega move, which only that Mega can use. A Mega with one also gets a row for its best moveset without it.
How This Works
Every attacker is rated against every Tier 5 and Mega raid boss and compared with that boss’s baseline, the best attacker against it that isn’t a Mega, Shadow or Legendary.
Gain is how much more of a boss’s health an attacker takes off than the baseline would, usually a few percent a boss. Avg Gain is that figure averaged over the bosses it beats the baseline against. Total Gain adds it up over the same bosses into a score, so a Pokémon that is a little better against many bosses can outrank one that is far better against a few.
Bosses is how many bosses it beats the baseline against. Top Picks is how many it is one of the six best attackers for.
Pick an attack type to rank movesets with a fast or a charged move of that type against the bosses weak to it. On a type’s board each row is one moveset, rated against every one of those bosses, so the numbers are what you get if you teach it those two moves and leave them. Sometimes a fast move of the type with a different charged move behind it is the stronger set. The Pokémon doesn’t have to be that type. Mega Lucario with Meteor Mash is a Steel attacker. Nothing is weak to Normal, so Normal attackers are rated against every boss that doesn’t resist them, and none of them rate high. Strength is its eDPS as a percent of the best attacker’s, averaged over those bosses. 100% would mean it is the best against every one. Avg eDPS is the plain figure, averaged over the same bosses. Everything is rated against the real raid bosses instead of one average opponent, so the order can differ from other sites’. A Mega whose own move is super effective against most of them rates high here.
Tiers sorts a type’s attackers by Strength, with SS for 90% and up, then a step down every 10%. With no type picked, each Pokémon goes in the highest tier it reaches with any type. There you can also switch to Worth the Dust, which tiers by Total Gain, so a Pokémon that improves many raids ranks above one that is brilliant in a few. The cuts are the same for every type, so a type with no standout attacker has nobody in SS or S. If you need that type anyway, switch the tiers to compare against its own best attacker.
The baseline is always rated on moves it learns today. A Pokémon whose best moveset with an Elite TM or legacy move beats what it learns today gets two rows: that moveset, and its best on moves it learns today. That way you can see what the Elite TM is worth, or how a Pokémon you already have with an old move compares. An old move that does no better gets no row. Switch Elite TM Moves off to hide those rows. A move marked E needs an Elite TM. With no type picked, a row adds up a Pokémon’s best showing against each boss, whichever moveset that takes.
A type’s board lists every Pokémon with a fast or charged move of that type, so you can find where yours stands. The filter takes the same tokens as the Pokédex: a name, is:mega, !is:shadow, t:steel for the Pokémon’s own type, atk>250, gen:4. A Pokémon keeps its rank from the whole list when you filter.
Level 40 rates everything at level 40. Budget puts Legendary and Mythical Pokémon and Ultra Beasts at level 40 and everything else at level 50, since the Candy XL for level 50 is far easier to come by for a Pokémon you can catch in the wild. The baseline moves to level 50 with it, so Gain there is measured from a higher mark. To compare Pokémon at levels of your own, use the compare page.
Everything is rated at 15/15/15 with no weather boost. Megas start at Max level, and Mega Level rates them at any of the four. Base is what you get the first time you Mega Evolve, and Super Max is everything spent, for the Megas that have it. Only a Mega whose best moveset uses its own Mega move changes much between them. Damage is worked out the same way as on the raid counters page.
