Gible Community Day Classic for September 2026 in Pokémon GO

Scopely announced today that the Land Shark Pokémon will be the September Community Day Classic! Gible was last a Community Day spotlight back in June 2021, so this has been a long time coming.

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local, Gible will appear much more frequently in the wild. Gabite evolved into Garchomp (until 9:00 p.m. local time) will learn the Charged Attack Earth Power. Additionally, this event will have 3x Catch XP, so work on those Excellent Curve Ball throws!

Interestingly, this Community Day Classic will also feature a "Mega Collection Challenge." You can complete this challenge to get XP, Stardust, and Garchomp Mega Energy. For those that don't have Mega Garchomp yet, this is a great way to get some energy.

Of course, there will also be a Community Day Special Research in the shop for $1.99 (or equivalent), which will give 3 guaranteed Special Background Gible, a Premium Battle Pass, and other goodies.

Of course, there are lots of Field Research tasks with lots of rewards, including extra Gible encounters. Gible will also be spawning on Lure Modules from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. to give you an extra shot. Plus, even after regular event hours, Gible at Lure Modules will have the increased Shiny chance, and could have a Special Background!

Garchomp is one of the best Pokémon available in the game, and with the eventual release of Mega Garchomp Z (whenever that is!) it's worth it to participate in this event if you missed the original run!
