Mewtwo Now Available Through Side Mission "Project M" in Legends: Z-A

You can now head to Mystery Gift in Legends: Z-A to get Mewtwonite X and Mewtwonite Y. This unlocks the special Side Mission: Project M. You'll get a short story that ends with an encounter with Mewtwo, which you can catch.

The mission will take you to Lysandre Labs, where you'll take the elevator and find a wild Mewtwo. This Mewtwo is shiny locked, so no shiny hunting! However, you can try to reroll the IVs and Nature, if you want.

There's no end date on the distribution, currently, so feel free to take your time finishing this. You do need to complete the game before you can start the side mission Project M.
