Pokémon GO Fest: Mega Finale 2026 Announced - Kalos First-Partner Megas Likely?

This morning, Scopely Explore announced that the final global event for GO Fest 2026 will be taking place on September 5 and 6, 2026. The event is titled "Pokémon GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale" and so far, the only teaser we've received is the official logo.

The original GO Fest 2026 logo (shown below) is almost entirely yellow, featuring strong lightning bolt motifs and some very clear blue electric streaks. That logo was a clear reference to Zeraora, the Thunderclap Pokémon, which happened to be our new Mythical release for this year's event.

It stands to reason that the new logo for the GO Fest Mega finale is also hinting at what the big reveal will be. The new logo features red, green, and blue coloring around the edges, perfectly corresponding to Fire, Grass, and Water typing. Additionally, the ribbon near the bottom has distinct iconography of leaves, fire, and water.

If we combine this with the fact that the event is called the "Mega Finale", it seems extremely likely that the focus will be the release of three Mega Evolutions representing the core Fire, Grass, and Water typings. Given recent franchise developments (especially with Legends: Z-A taking place in Kalos with many new Mega Evolutions), the best candidates would clearly be Mega Chesnaught, Mega Delphox, and Mega Greninja.

Of course we might also see the Legends: Z-A starters make their debut with Mega Meganium, Mega Emboar, and Mega Feraligatr. However, based on the shades of the colors in the logo, I'm more inclined to lean towards the original Kalos starters.

Will we see these three Kalos Mega Evolutions make their Pokémon GO debut during this finale? We'll have to wait and see, but it sure seems extremely likely to me!
