Pokémon GO Halloween 2020 Event Details

The Pokémon GO Halloween 2020 event has been revealed! There are lots of new and exciting things coming, including an opportunity at Shiny Spiritomb and the release of Galarian Yamask! Plus, there will be new field research, a whole Special Research, and other spooky events!
linkMain Highlights for Pokémon GO Halloween 2020
The event runs from Friday, Oct. 23 at 6 PM PDT to Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 6 PM PST.
There will be 2x catch candy and 2x transfer candy available throughout the whole event. Here are the other highlights:
- Increased spawns of Ghost-type Pokémon in the wild, raids, and eggs.
- Gengar and Sableye in costumes (see image below).
- Galarian Yamask will make it’s debut (with hopefully Runerigus as well) and will be in the new research: A Spooky Message Unmasked
- Spiritomb will be appearing at the end of A Spooky Message Unmasked and will be in research tasks. Its shiny is for sure being released.
- If you completed the Mega Buddy Challenge timed research a few months ago, a new timed research will be available to reward Gengar Mega Energy.
- Darkrai is returning to 5-star raids. It’s shiny form was already released earlier this year, so it will be shiny again.
- New avatar items with masks and other clothes. There’s also a new pose!
- New boxes in the shop
- Take snapshots to get Ghost-type encounter!
linkOther Events for Halloween
There are a few other events that will be available during Halloween:
- Alolan Marowak Raid Day – Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11 to 5 local time.
- Ghost Day – Sunday, Oct. 25, from 8 to 10 local time will up the Ghost-type spawns further and will include a Timed Research. This event focuses on Drifloon.
- Halloween Cup – in GO Battle League, there will be a special cup in Great league that limits the types to Poison, Bug, Ghost, Dark and Fairy. This will reward costumed Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle.

I’m looking forward to the Halloween event in Pokémon GO. It’s always one of the Pokémon GO things I look forward to the most during the year. Hopefully they’ll give us the Lavender Town Music remix (you should seriously listen below). Either way, really excited for the event!
