Pokémon GO's Pokémon 30th Anniversary Event Detailed

As part of the Pokémon 30th Anniversary celebration, Pokémon GO is releasing a featured event! The event will run from Tuesday March 3 at 10:00 a.m. to Monday, March 9, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. local time. There's a special GO Pass (and GO Pass Deluxe) with lots of rewards and bonuses.
Event Rewards
Complete the your GO Pass to earn the following rewards for all tracks:
- Encounter with Mewtwo (Shiny eligible)
- Encounters with Kanto Pokémon
- Candy
For those with the GO Pass Deluxe you get the following:
- Mewtwo Candy XL
- Additional encounters with Kanto Pokémon, including Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres
- Rare Candy
Milestone Bonuses
There are also some milestone bonuses you can unlock:
- Tier 1:
- 2x Catch Candy (regular GO Pass)
- 3x Catch Candy (GO Pass Deluxe)
- Tier 2:
- 2x Catch XP (regular GO Pass)
- 3x Catch XP (GO Pass Deluxe)
Other Notes
Ditto will also be changing into different Pokémon throughout the event. You can also encounter any Pokémon first discovered in Kanto (except for Mew and Mewtwo). That means that you can even find Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres out in the wild!
Raids will also feature Pikachu wearing Red's hat and Leaf's hat, as well as Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.
Of course, there will also be Field Research specific to the Kanto region.
Pokémon 30th Anniversary: All Out
Over the weekend of the event (Saturday, March 7 until the end of the event), a huge explosion of Pokémon will be spawning in the wild! Nearly every Pokémon except for Mythical Pokémon, Ultra Beasts, and some species that are only available via special encounters (Scatterbug, Kecleon, Smeargle, Gimmighoul).
Additionally, Pikachu wearing every Trainer's hat will be in one-star raids, and many 5-star raids will include Articuno, Zapdos, Motres, Deoxys (Normal), Darkrai, Genesect, Nihilego, Buzzwole, Pheromosa, Xurkitree, Celesteela, Kartana, Guzzlord, Stakataka, Blacephalon, and Necrozma.
