Precious Pals: Taken Over Pokémon GO Event to Feature Shadow Incarnate Forme Thundurus

Coming Friday, January 23, at 12:00 a.m. until Sunday, January 25, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Pokémon GO will have the Precious Pals: Taken Over event. Giovanni's Legendary will be swapped out for Incarnate Forme Thundurus.

Additionally, Team GO Rocket will appear more frequently at PokéStops and in balloons. You can use a Charged TM to remove Frustration from your Shadow Pokémon. There will also be a new Special Research to get a Super Rocket Radar so you can fight Giovanni.

Shadow Chespin, Shadow Fennekin, and Shadow Froakie will also be available from GO Rocket Runts. Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo will also rotate their Pokémon.

There will also be a Collection Challenge as well as Field Research specifically for the event.
